CALL FOR PROPOSALS

We are ready to receive proposals! Our website submission form is live. We seek a full range of topics: text study, Jewish history, social action, arts & culture, family programs, and more. We welcome a full range of formats – for example, lecture, interactive music & movement, hevruta-style small group, powerpoint with Q&A.  And we hope both new and returning presenters will prepare proposals. We encourage both experienced teachers and new voices sharing areas of personal expertise. Embrace the Limmud principle “Every Learner can be a Teacher. Every Teacher should be a Learner.” Proposals are due Dec. 15, 2017.

photo 1WEEKEND DETAILS

This year we will return to the spacious facilities at Beth Israel Synagogue. Our Saturday Night event will shift. Before sunset, we’ll learn from several excellent, diverse presentations. After sunset, we’ll enjoy havdalah and a joyous reception. We will sell only one weekend ticket, good for both Saturday Night and Sunday.

OUR TEAMteaching at Limmud

Our new Chairperson is Laura Duhan Kaplan, well known around town for her breadth of teaching and organizational skills. Our previous Chairperson, Avi Dolgin, and the core group that created Limmud Vancouver will be staying on to create this next great weekend.

We’d love for you join the team. We need folks on the existing committees – publicity, community outreach, venue, family programming etc. We’d love to have one or two more people managing the computer tech for our presenters on the Sunday.  And we’re looking for two people to create the printed program guide – a time-limited task that calls for your writing, editing, layout and production abilities. And we’re also open to new initiatives. For example: Jewish theatre, monthly topic gatherings, and so on. What would you love to see at the next LimmudVan? What would you love to take on?
